My dream costume is a Coke can! Reason why is because I am a Coke fanatic! I have a Coke collection, I HAVE to have a Coke each day but only one a day. But my mom came up with the Coke can idea in AUGUST! I never thought that it would come out so neat!!
We made it all…from our own pattern, 2 hula hoops, pleather fabric, and 2 yardsticks. It took my mom about 25 hours from start to finish. And, well look at my costume!!!

My husband Charlie created the shower ring from PVC pipe. I purchased two inexpensive shower curtains, secured them together leaving holes for my arms to be free outside the shower curtain. The rest of the costume was normal shower accessories. I've never had a more fun costume.

The dress and doll are homemade by my mom 25+ years ago when I was a toddler. Now my daughter wears it. The trickiest part was the wig...my own solution was cut-off baby tights and balls of red yarn glued all over. The most amazing part was that my daughter actually kept the wig on all night!

When he was little, my son Michael wanted to be the Wiggles' character Capt. Feathersword the pirate for Halloween. Not just any pirate costume would do, so I made this one from scratch - black puffy pants with gold trim up the sides, white shirt with big puffy sleeves and a fancy red vest. He carried a toy sword with feathers attached.

We made this costume by spray painting an old trash can yellow and cutting the bottom out. We made the label from construction paper and laminated it. Finally for the tip we cut two soccer cones up and made them into a hat.

We used a round sled and painted it silver, cut a hole in it, lined it with styrofoam and used the same material to make the antenna in the front.

My fav time of year. Costume is always the same...layers of bridal slips, fabric of gray gauze, tap shoes are a must! Oh yes, and too much candy! Over the years they have now started sitting on my lap...just like Santa Claus...it's just far too much fun! I often ask them to brush their teeth, do good in school and most of all be kind of others...I tell them I'm watching...and then hand them tons of candy....after they promised that all of the above would be done. I love this day. I have no children...it's really special.

Forever dreams of being Elphaba on Broadway someday - so mom had to sew a real Wicked Witch costume from a Wizard of Oz pattern. Just like the real thing from the movie! <|:)

I wanted to go as a half human, half animal. I chose to be a lion. It is made of a full face latex appliance, and custom fangs. All of which I made myself. The staff was made of a plastic skull covered in latex and cottonball. I added mementos from previous hunts and tried to make it look tribal. It took a week to make and 2 hours to put on.

This costume was my first attempt at making latex appliances. It is a half face appliance covering from the nose to me forehead. I also have custom made rotten teeth, which I made myself. I walked around the parties with a briefcase handing out business cards that said,

My kids Michael and Elizabeth wanted to dress up as hippies last year for Halloween. I bought the cool fringed vest, wigs and the peace & smiley face patches on eBay. I found my son's HUGE wide bottom cords at a thrift shop for $2. Their shirts, his belt, her bandana and big hoop earrings (not really visible in the photo) came from my own closet! I ripped the sides of my daughter's jeans and added a triangle of bandana fabric. She wore her own clogs and he wore his own sandals. They got lots of compliments on these costumes.

My daughter Elizabeth wanted to dress up as a gypsy girl. We scoured our closets and found a peasant-type blouse and a couple of scarves. I purchased a cool swirly layered skirt on eBay and wonderful belly-dancer-type coin jewelry. A friend gave her beaded shoes to top off the outfit. She has naturally shoulder-length dark hair, but you cannot tell she has it pulled back in the photo.

My son Michael is a big Elvis fan and wanted to dress like him for Halloween a couple of years ago. I found a basic white Elvis-style jumpsuit online, but it was sooo plain. I embellished it with lots of jewels and coins, added a shiny red scarf, his sister's black chunky boots (shhh...don't tell anyone), sunglasses and temporary black hair dye. I drew on the sideburns. His response after trick-or-treating, was always

We adopted our daughter Elizabeth from Russia when she was three years old. For her very first Halloween, she wanted to be a kitty cat. She wore a black leotard, tights and shoes. I sewed her a simple black fur vest, tail and ears, which were attached to a headband. Simple, but cute!
